2020 Freshers, Welcome to EAGL!
And EAGL sophomores, juniors and seniors,
The Department of English as a Global Language (EAGL) welcomes all of you freshers, who have chosen this department as the institution to open the door to your future. My greetings also go to sophomores, juniors and seniors, who study hard in the department.
As you know, we are in the most difficult situation because of COVID-19 (new coronavirus). The EAGL teachers and staff cannot see you face-to-face now. However, we need to remember that we will see you again and freshers for the first time when this virus is gone.
In this hard time, I would like to quote some parts of the following speech addressed to the UK citizens by Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen's speech starts as "I am speaking to you at what I know is an increasingly challenging time. A time of disruption in the life of our country: a disruption that has brought grief to some, financial difficulties to many, and enormous changes to the daily lives of us all."
And it ends as "We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return: we will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again."
I agree that "better days will return, (and) we will meet again".
