国際協力のNGOを主宰されているマレーシアご出身のファジラ・バザリ先生からはミニ・ヨガ体験に続いて、ヨガと出会い、ヨガを学び、ヨガの普及を通じた国際協力のお仕事をはじめられるようになったご自身の歩み、ケニアやパプアニューギニアでのお仕事の紹介、そして新入生へのメッセージをすべて英語でご講義いただきました。新入生たちは懸命にお話を聞いていました。以下はバザリ先生によるご講義の要旨です。

LIVE THE LIFE YOU LOVE

Have faith in yourself, be open, be positive, and live the life you love. This is what we have learned from the talk by Ms. Fazilah Bazari. 

As one of the guest speakers in the orientation of International Career Department (ICD) in Luigans Spa & Resort, Fazilah-sensei took us on a spiritual journey. She shared her life experience with all of us, what struck us most is the story she told about her belief since her childhood. Because she was born on a boat as the first child in the family, she believed what her grandmother said, that she was a mermaid and she should go explore the whole world, be it the land or the sea. This strong faith in herself made her believe, she can be more than who she was, and has taken her to so many places in the world living the life she loves.

As a yoga trainer and life coach, her dream is to help lift the consciousness of the human’s spirit by spreading yoga to all corners of the world, and she has succeeded with her continuous passion and effort. Up to now, she has left positive footprints everywhere she’s been to. Take Kenya as one example, she had trained yoga trainers during her stay there, and now all the trainers are very active in helping others by teaching yoga in the same way as she has always been doing. She is also helping young people in Papua New Guinea the same way as she did in Kenya. 

In the end of her talk, we had the opportunity to watch one video clip of her work in Kenya. We could see happy kids with big smiles shining, full of hope and pleasure. It is so amazing that what great changes Fazilah-sensei has brought to the people around her. 

Thanks to Fazilah-sensei’s talk, we come to realize how strong positive beliefs can change our life, if we are willing to help change other people’s life for the better, we will make an impact and change the world to a better place. As one of her favorite mottos says, “Live The Life You Love”. 

The seemingly long but short four-year university life will turn out to be the most important stage of our life, we have faith in ourselves in becoming better, and we will try all our best to learn as much as we can and live the life we love.
